Love for forgotten is a Bangalore based NGO established in the month of February, 2017. Built on a purpose to love every forgotten animal out there by rescuing and fostering the injured and putting them up for adoption. Treating them with care post-operation and making sure that each abandoned one has a roof on its head. No matter how hard it rains, how sunny it gets or how stormy it is, these strays endure it. Some of them fail and give up on life. Establishing a shelter for these victimised animals was LFF’s primary goal. After lots of efforts in finding like minded people , LFF was kick started. A shelter for those angels, a hope for forgotten ones, which they named it “Love For Forgotten” an animal rehabilitation centre established with an aim to help the forgotten souls which are in distress.
The main objectives of LFF are:
- Collaborating with the animal welfare groups, rescuers and veterinarians for the betterment of animal lives.
- Rescuing abandoned animals and making sure the injured ones receive the right kind of treatment.
- Promoting awareness on animal welfare, animal care and health issues and what actions have to be taken.
- Ensuring that periodic ABC (animal birth control) camps are conducted to control the population so that the dogs can have a better standard of life.
- The majority of their time is focused on distress calls from residents of Bangalore who find animals in need of help. In the last two years, they have saved and provided a better life for at least 500 dogs.
What Exactly we do at LFF?
- LFF is a post operative care shelter which provides free shelter services, inpatient service and a balanced diet.
- Abandoned animals are brought to LFF and showered with abundant love. Later, adoption drives are conducted and those pups are given a forever home.
- Aged animals who are discarded by their owners find solace here at LFF. Fostering animals until adopted.
- Animal rescues – where injured animals will be taken in temporarily, medical treatment provided and released on recovery.
- Periodic vet checks for the dogs frequently to ensure their well being.
- Yearly vaccination drives are conducted and dogs in batches have been vaccinated. This is an ongoing process once in 3 months, identifying new locations based on dog population.
- Adoption drives are conducted and background checks are done before rehoming the pups.
- Water bowl project is conducted during summer time – ensuring that drinking water is available for the animals on the streets.
- Dogs are tagged with reflective collars to ensure their safety.
