Each year, more than a million dogs die as they don’t find a proper shelter or due to an accident which is left untreated. Most of the shelters and animal welfare organisations house a lot of such distressed, stranded dogs and cannot further intake more.
The only solution to this problem is ADOPTION. Adoption has a lot of advantages. It helps the shelters to make space for injured/healing animals. It makes sure that the various organisations focus on their noble services.
Animal shelters and rescue groups are brimming with happy, healthy pets just waiting for someone to take them home. When you adopt, you are reassuring love and care for an animal that was abandoned or homeless.
Majority of the animals at the shelter are neutered, vaccinated and trained! This reduces your duty of starting from the scratch.
Breeding centres/puppy mills ruthlessly breed animals illegally. Many female dogs have lost their lives and some still suffer in pain. It is sickening to see the condition of the parent animals. Most of these activities would be illegal. To put an end to these puppy mills, we should adopt and encourage others to adopt as well. Adopting a superior breed takes an extra cut from your pockets as these animals do need certain provisions for their survival.
Indie dog population is erupting day by day. But there is still so much void to fill in terms of their adoption. All the problems faced during adopting a breeded dog are completely eliminated while getting an indie. This should be a wake up call for all of us to normalise INDIE ADOPTION.
